[Berry, 25 Piccadilly, London] A box of superb workmanship, of the period circa 1807, of gold picked out with blue enamel bearing on the lid an exceptional miniature of King Jerome Napoleon, youngest brother of Emperor Napoleon I. The surface of the box, which bears the initials J.N. under the base is delightfully ciselé with emblems of Royal association. It is illustrated actual size and was made by "Remond Lamy Mericer & Comp." whose name it bears. The connection of King Jerome Napoleom with the town of Baltimore, through his marriage with Elizabeth Patterson, is of very great historical interest. Their grandson, the Hon. Charles Bonaparte, became Attorney-General in Mr. Theodore Roosevelt's administration, dying as recently as 1921.
