An exceptional drawing which appears to be one of several preparatory studies for the engraving of the same title or related to such preparatory drawing. Originating from the Circle of Andrea Mantegna and apparently executed before the final form of the engraving, this drawing is particularly interesting as evidence of a hitherto unrecorded stage in the design process of the engraving Bacchanal with a Wine Vat.
