The coat-of-arms crowned by a tiara, white stole and two crossed keys with rosette-shaped handles. The ledge decorated with border consisting of gold-scale-band as well as blue and white enamel dots. Folded rim. Height 6,7 cm - 7,3 cm. Diam. 27,3cm. The coat-of-arms refers either to Giovanni de Medici or to Giulio de Medici.

Estimate: £250,000-350,000. The statue is documented in three inventories of the Villa Ludovisi in Rome, dated 1623, 1633 and 1665. In the early 1620s Cardinal Ludovico Ludovisi was forming one of the greatest collections of statuary and paintings of the period, including many antiquities.
